Gone With The Wind

In honor of Hurricane Irene, a few of our very favorite styling tools and tips for the best blow out of your life...

Hurricanes can certainly blow the roof right off of your house, but a great blow-out can wield tremendous traffic-stopping power as well. In an effort to always make lemondrop martinis from lemons, we're shifting our focus off of Irene for just a moment and onto harnessing wind-power for the greater good of looking gorgeous.

Tips from the Pros...

"To get a beautiful bouncy blow-out in less time, apply an anti-frizz serum like Kerastase Oleo-Relax, for shine and to fight frizz, and a Styling Mousse like Kerastase Mousse Nutri-Sculpt, for hold, from root to tip on damp hair. Comb through to distribute. Flip head upside down and using fingers and a blow-dryer, remove 80% of moisture from the hair. Then, flip head upright and continue drying using a round brush to give body and smooth frizz. Start from the front and work your way back. Finish with a sealant or shine serum and/or a light aerosol hairspray."

"In order to give your hair a professional looking blowout, you need patience. A lot of women grab clumps of hair and blow dry it dry and then try to curl it under or style it. Instead, you need to devote some time to achieving the look you want. A good blowout starts with quality products and tools. Splurge on a great shampoo and conditioner to use only on days when you’re going to spend some time on your hair and need it to look amazing (I suggest Kerastase). After you shower, you need to put a product in your hair depending on your hair type and the look you are trying to achieve.
